Dakota Decoy Youth Staff

Garret Hawkins, Alabama - Youth Staff

My name is Garrett Hawkins and I live in Florence, Alabama. Since the age of 6, I have been addicted to the outdoors. Anytime I get the opportunity to go hunting I take advantage of it, whether it be waterfowl, deer, turkey, or doves. In the off season, I spend my time practicing my duck and goose calling, competing in competitive bass tournaments, and scouting. I was introduced to waterfowl hunting at an early age by my dad. I have grown up hunting the Mississippi Delta and flooded rice fields of Arkansas. There is something about witnessing numerous pairs of orange feet hanging over a spread that just fuels my passion to hunt waterfowl. I'm honored to be able to say I am a part of the Dakota Decoy's Youth Staff. Dakota Decoy has introduced the most durable and life-like decoys to the waterfowl industry. I'm proud to represent the most innovative and persistent decoy company in the field and on the market.

Mark Rodehutskors, Alberta, Canada - Youth Staff

My name is Mark Rodehutskors and I am 17 years old living just Southeast of Calgary Alberta, Canada. I enjoy all aspects of the outdoors, from camping and hiking, to shed hunting, to big game hunting, to pike and trout fishing in the summertime. Duck and goose hunting is however my passion, and I have been fortunate to grow up in an area where waterfowl hunting is so prominent and the opportunities are plentiful, as well as being able to gain knowledge and experience from some of the top waterfowl hunters in southern Alberta. A few years ago, my brother and I were able to buy several dozen Dakota full bodies, and the success we have had hunting over them is unbelievable. Being in High school, we many times are limited in how often we are able to get out chasing birds, and this means that we feel it is important to maximize our success every time we are afield. Dakota goose and duck decoys certainly help us achieve this. The realism and durability of Dakota decoy products is unmatched in the industry, and it is for these reasons that I am proud to be a part of the Dakota Decoy team.

Julie White, California-Youth Staff

I've been going hunting with my dad since I was 3. I like being in the outdoors and meeting people that enjoy it as much as I do. I like encouraging younger people to get involved in the outdoors. I have met and hunted with some of the staff and can't wait to meet others. In the off season I enjoy fishing and camping.

Alden Kramer, Colorado-Youth Staff

One rule I have followed throughout life is to do what you love. What I love is hunting and specifically waterfowl hunting. When I was younger I would go out in the field and hunt with my dad chasing pheasants and waterfowl in my home state of Colorado. As I matured I spent hours trying to perfect the sport of hunting, learning everything I could through family and friends then I would test it out in the field. What I found out overtime is if you really want to increase your success in the field and harvest more animals you need to use Dakota Decoys. Decoys are what attract the animals like water attracts waterfowl and with Dakota Decoy Company they are the best decoys out there to attract your target of choice.

McKade Huft, Idaho-Youth Staff

I am McKade Huft and I am 14 years old.  I have hunted over my dad’s Dakotas my whole life and now I own my own Dakotas, and continue to be amazed every time I look at them. I grew up hunting over Dakotas and I will continue hunting over the best looking decoys on the market.

Brady Snider, Indiana-Youth Staff

My name is Brady Snider. I am 16 years old and from small town, USA better known as Bruceton, Tn. This is where I have grown up spending the majority of my time duck hunting, wild turkey hunting and of course, playing football! I love the game and being a young sportsman, not only on the football field, but more so in the open fields...and bottoms. That is where I'm most content, building blinds, calling ducks and making the best memories of my youth. My favorite days are spent with my buddies in our duck hole telling tales,  and slaying birds. There is nothing better than daybreak on a cold morning and seeing waterfowl commit to the decoy spread. That is what makes me happy. My father and grandfather taught me how to hunt and my goal is to also one day pass the torch to my son and grandson.

The most important thing that I would like others to know about me is that I have a strong faith in God. Above all, I hope that others can see Jesus in me on all the fields in my life. Thanks for this opportunity to share a little bit about myself.

Gabe Eslinger, Indiana-Youth Staff

Hey everyone!  My name is Gabe.  I am 12 years old and from Indiana.  My passion is duck hunting, but you can always find me out hunting or fishing.  I have been outdoors with my dad since I was in diapers!  I am in the 6th grade and am proud to be a part of my school and community’s youth sports programs.   Football is my favorite, but I also play baseball, basketball and run track.  I am truly honored to now be able to say I am a part of the Dakota Decoy Youth Field Staff.   I love God, my family, and cannot wait to hopefully inspire other young people to love duck hunting as much as I do!  Let’s get hunting!

Brady Mulroy, Kansas-Youth Staff

My name is Brady Mulroy, and I am from a small little farm town north of Topeka, Kansas called Holton, Kansas. Ever since the day I was introduced to hunting at an early age, I have had a passion for the outdoors. Until three years back, I had never been introduced to waterfowl hunting, but when one of my buddies took me duck hunting to the marsh for my first time ever, I knew that waterfowl was my favorite. Ever since that day, I have been working hard every fall and winter to pile up huge stacks of ducks and geese. I am very proud to now call myself a youth staff member for Dakota Decoy, who make the most realistic decoys around!

Samuel Larson, Kansas-Youth Staff

My name is Samuel Larson, I'm 16 years old and I have hunted waterfowl since I was 8 and turkey hunted well before that. I live on a farm in northeast Kansas with 3 other brothers that I hunt with all the time. We do a lot of hunting on small farm ponds or in big fields around the area. I also hunt with my friends down at the Perry marsh during the early season. I am proud to be a Dakota decoy staff member and will be supporting this company in many years to come.

Damon Van Beck, Minnesota-Youth Staff

I am from Central Minnesota, but I also hunt in the Dakotas quite often. I’ve been hunting since I was very young. Hunting is a very popular thing to do in my family and it has become one of my favorite things to do. I have hunted many different species such as whitetails, predators, turkeys, and more, but waterfowl is definitely my favorite. Hunting waterfowl is my passion and obsession. From the beginning of the season until the end I am either scouting or in the field hunting. I love working ducks into the decoys, being with friends, meeting new people, and so much more. Capturing hunts through the eyes of a camera has also become one of my favorite things to do. Preserving the irreplaceable memories made and special moments in the outdoors is such a cool hobby to do. I am very proud to be on the Dakota Decoy staff to represent a great company throughout my hunts and better my success.

Hunter Weisel, Minnesota-Youth Staff

I started hunting when I was a little boy I went with my dad deer and pheasant hunting I started waterfowling when I was 10 I was hooked ever since. I also go out deer and pheasant hunting by far chasing waterfowl is my favorite. I am excited to represent Dakota decoys.

Cole Kimball, Minnesota-Youth Staff

My name is Cole Kimball and I am 17 years old. I live in Minnesota with my family and my yellow lab, Piper. My passion for the outdoors and hunting started at an early age. I enjoy hunting deer, turkey, waterfowl, upland game, and bear. I’ve found that what I enjoy the most is waterfowl and the sport of pursuing them, which started for me at seven years old. I hunt the entire waterfowl season here in Minnesota starting in early September and ending in late December. Yearly trips to both North and South Dakota are also regularly on my agenda. Hunting in the fall and winter months exposes my Dakota decoys to many conditions, including early season rainstorms, extreme winds, and late season freezing temps and blizzards. I will stand by these decoys due to the success I’ve had using them and their ability to keep performing no matter the conditions. It has been great representing Dakota Decoy since 2014 and I can’t wait to proudly represent this company in the years to come.

Alex Keranen, Youth Staff Minnesota

Nick Hagedorn, Missouri-Youth Staff

My names Nick Hagedorn I live in central Missouri.  I enjoy hunting, fishing and playing baseball.  I've been hunting and fishing since I was about 5 years old, mostly deer and turkey until 5 years ago when my older brother got me started waterfowl hunting. I really enjoy the challenge of setting up a spread and trying to get ducks and geese to work into it the way I want them to.  I've still got a lot to learn but I enjoy spending time talking to other waterfowlers, reading articles, and watching television shows trying to pick up tips to try the next time I get to go. I really like Dakotas’s lifelike decoys, they give me confidence that I'm using the best decoys possible and giving myself the best chance to be successful.  I'm excited to be a part of the Dakota family and I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences with other hunters.

Chasing divers and sea ducks in late October is so much fun. Lying in a cornfield waiting on some geese is a blast as well. I love learning new techniques, and learning from my dad. He has brought me in the field with him since I was 5. He has taught me so much already, and got me prepared to be a part of Dakota decoys. I love this product so much because of how real the decoys look, and how well they stand up to abuse, and the elements. Thanks Dakota decoys for allowing me to be a part of a great company, and represent a great product.
